Windows 7 is available in six main editions: Windows 7 Starter

A budget edition of Windows 7 for casual users and low-powered devices such as netbook computers

Windows 7 Home Basic

A budget edition of Windows 7 for emerging markets Windows 7 Home Premium

An enhanced edition of Windows 7 with premium entertainment features

Windows 7 Professional

A basic edition of Windows 7 for use in small businesses and networks that use Windows domains Windows 7 Enterprise

An enhanced edition of Windows 7 for use in Windows domains with extended management features

Windows 7 Ultimate

An enhanced edition of Windows 7 with all the available home user and professional user features

Only the Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions have the components needed to join a Windows domain. Table 22-1 provides an overview of the differences among these editions. Supported features are marked with a "x." Standard features that all Windows 7 editions support are not listed.
